THE YEAR IS 2084 ...

Earth is a near utopia

Bowling scores are way up, and golf scores are way down.

People enjoy more of their time together, jamming to excellent music. Scientists, economists, and pop stars agree everything's choice, except for that the most awesome arcades in history, as originally experienced, exist only in the past.

The Arcade 2084 project is created, and an exhibition mission is planned.

Objective: Abscond with the otherwise doomed arcade games and bring them back to the future to build Arcade 2084- and bring Earth one step closer to the utopia many believe is its destiny.

The new Chrononaut Program's most respected time pilot is chosen for the first round-trip manned-mission back in time, a hundred years, to demonstrate the benevolent use of the new time-travel technology.

Captain Vera C. Travers.
Exceptionally brilliant, and disarmingly beautiful. Unfailingly disciplined, she's an experienced pilot with broken records and broken hearts in her wake.

Chim-Sum Dippe.
An eccentric pioneer in time travel research who expected to be the first time traveler.

When he loses it all, Dippe sets out to sabotage the Time Shuttle program, the Arcade 2084 mission, Vera's future, and throw a monkey wrench into history as she knows it.

The exhibition mission soon becomes an ultimate stakes gamble to prevent the future from being sabotaged, and the only chance to save history

Arcade 2084's intent in part: Faithfully re-create the actual environment of an 80s arcade. In creating it, no detail was spared.

Operators of arcades in the 80s frequently created a sci-fi theme. 'Futuristic' elements from a simple backstory often informed the motif.

For those sure Arcade 2084 is merely an arcade, a place they may see as mundane, any unexpected environmental detail or narrative depth could make anyplace -any story -at its foundation seem "too long" and any foundational narrative or era-accurate detail seem "needless."
